PokerStars & Poker Power To Provide Women's Poker Boot Camp

The leading online poker operator, PokerStars, is launching a new initiative to encourage more women to play poker by offering training to help them become better players.

According to the release from PokerStars, the new project will see a partnership between PokerStars and Poker Power provide a new “boot camp” program to draw women who are new to the game but are interested in learning more.

In the announcement, PokerStars Director of Partnerships, PR, and Consumer Engagement Rebecca McAdam Willets discussed the importance of such boot camps in giving women who have never played poker “an essential first opportunity” as well as providing additional motivation for those who already play poker and are willing to improve their level of play and skills to “gain confidence at the tables.”

PokerStars and Poker Power will organize a four-week boot camp, an organization founded by women who want to educate other women on how to play poker. It will be accessible to women worldwide.

PokerStars is sure that this program is only one of several designed to get more women to play poker and that the subjects covered at the boot camp will involve gaming and a deep dive into negotiation, capital allocation, and strategic decision-making.

Poker Power Play, a training program, PokerStars tournaments, and home games will be used to give practice sessions.

Participants who want to be ready for the 2022 European Poker Tour (EPT) in Prague from December 7–18 may take private lessons with PokerStars ambassadors Jennifer Shahade and GJ Reggie.

A Platinum Pass and a funded trip to the PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC), which runs from January 22 to February 3, 2023, are also up for grabs for these competitors.

Together with the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), the PSPC will take place in the Bahamas at the stunning Baha Mar Resort on Cable Beach in Nassau. In addition to the poker thrill, the resort offers guests world-class dining options, a vast selection of pools, and the recently opened Baha Bay beachfront waterpark.

The creators of Poker Power, a poker education organization started by women who want to teach women how to play poker, contend that poker is more than just a game and that poker skills can have a broader impact on women. As a result, they want to help women succeed in other facets of their lives by adopting a poker player’s mindset.
